SmartSource is in need of a Field Support Technician for a 6+ month opportunity in New York City.

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 6+ months

Location: New York City, NY 10001

Pay Rate: $20.00/hr.

Hours: 8:30AM-5:30PM

Dress Attire: Business Casual

Job Description: We are in need of a Field Support Technician for a 6+ month opportunity located in New York City. The Field Technician will be doing desktop / laptop deployment from Windows XP to Windows 7. This is over 6 locations in New York City where they can all be accessed by subway. The technicians must have an unlimited monthly metro pass as that WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED BY THE CUSTOMER. The Deployment activities will consist of:

- Install new peripherals: monitors, keyboard/mouse, and units

- Take old equipment and store in designated area. Label the units with user's name & date of install.

- Stage and prep units with needed applications- via SCCM or manual installs. App lists will be provided by the client

- Make sure install printer network to new unit as per shown on the old unit.

- Map network drives

- Basically mirror old unit to new

- Validation of the new unit with users by walk users through the User Acceptance Checklist

- Communicate with PM team on updates at end of every business day for completed issues and major issues.

- Troubleshoot post-install issues via Remedy ticketing system or emails from the PM.

Requirements:

- Must be willing to take a drug and background check upon an offer being made.

- MUST BE A US CITIZEN OR GREEN CARD HOLDER!

- 3 years’ experience working in the IT Field

- 3 years providing support on software migrations on Windows based platforms

- Must have experience migrating Windows XP-Windows 7

- Must be able to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment.

- Excellent personality and customer service skills.
