as an Emergency Department RN. The Emergency Department at Hartford
Hospital, a tertiary care teaching hospital, is seeking both new
graduate and experienced nurses. To foster the growth of each new
RN to the department, a unique mentorship program has been
developed to support the transition into our department during each
RN's first year here. Our mentorship program includes experienced
nurses who offer their time to all of our newest team members.
Through the mentorship program, we've successfully created
professional colleague relationships that contribute to each RN's
individual success within our department.
In addition to being one of the busiest Emergency Departments in
Connecticut, HHED is also an accredited Level 1 Trauma Center,
chest pain center and comprehensive stroke center, treating
patients of the highest acuity in the region. Comprised of 109
beds, with the addition of a new 19 bed ED Observation Unit, HHED
treats an average of 145,000 patients annually. Are you a dynamic

behavioral health crisis unit, waiting for you!
Join a dynamic and collaborative team of inter-disciplinary team
members, including nurses, psychiatrists, medical doctors, social
workers, and ancillary personnel as we provide emergency care to
our most vulnerable mental health population. In this fast-paced
environment you'll work with like-minded professionals who value
quality mental health care and advocacy for the mental health
population. Our ideal candidate would have at least one year of
inpatient or behavioral crisis nursing experience, and is looking
to take on the next challenge in their career. Collaborating with
the Institute of Living at Hartford Hospital, we are able to
provide many resources and educational opportunities for your
growth. Nurse Educators embedded within the Emergency Department
are actively involved in the crisis area. CPI certification
provided during orientation. Collaborative efforts with the Purple
Light Project and Hartford HealthCare's state-wide Behavioral
Health Network, advocating in concert for the mental health
population. Our nurses are renowned for thinking and acting quickly
to meet the varying needs of our patients, as well as being highly
skilled, flexible and resilient; with the ability to work in a team
environment to provide the highest level of satisfaction to our
staff and our patients.
Qualifications
--- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN
degree required; ASN/ADN RNs with relevant experience may be
considered.
--- Licensure: Current Connecticut RN license required prior to
start date.
--- Experience: Previous acute care RN preferred, however new
graduate RNs who are passionate about Emergency Medicine are
welcomed and encouraged to apply.
--- Certifications: BLS certification by American Heart Association
required prior to date of hire.
